The Mitsubishi L200 is one of the most widely used one-tonne pickups in the world, and if the name is unfamiliar you almost certainly know it by another one: the same truck is sold as the Triton across much of Asia, Oceania and Latin America, and as the Strada elsewhere. It has a long reputation with farmers, contractors, fleets and aid organisations for being tough, simple and cheap to run, and Dubai has good supply in both single and double cab forms. Two things are worth settling before you buy, because neither is visible in a photograph: whether the truck is petrol or diesel, and which of Mitsubishi's two four-wheel-drive systems it has. If you want to export a Mitsubishi L200 from Dubai, this page covers the specification, both of those, buying and shipping, the export steps, model tiers, paperwork and destinations.

Vehicle specifications

The L200 is a body-on-frame one-tonne pickup, sold in single cab, club cab and double cab forms with rear-wheel drive or selectable four-wheel drive. Engines vary by market. The one most export buyers want is the 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel, producing roughly 178 hp and around 430 Nm, which is strong for the class and pulls well under load. Gulf stock also includes petrol versions, commonly a 2.4-litre, which are simpler and cheaper to buy but noticeably less suited to heavy work. Gearboxes are a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. Payload sits at around a tonne and braked towing at roughly three tonnes.

Petrol or diesel is the first question to ask, and it matters as much on this truck as on any we export. In markets where the pickup fleet runs on diesel, or where diesel is cheaper than petrol, a petrol L200 is harder to sell on regardless of condition, and some destinations tax the two differently. Neither engine is wrong in the abstract; what matters is matching it to where the truck is going. Get the answer in writing on the invoice, and make sure the fuel type appears on the customs declaration too.

The second invisible difference is the four-wheel-drive system. Mitsubishi fits two, and they are not the same. Easy Select is a conventional part-time system: two-wheel drive on the road, four-wheel drive for loose surfaces only, and it must not be used in four-wheel drive on dry tarmac. Super Select adds a centre differential, so it can be driven in four-wheel drive on sealed roads as well, which makes it far more useful in mixed conditions and in wet climates. Super Select trucks are worth meaningfully more and the two look identical from outside. Ask which system a specific truck has, and confirm it against the VIN.

On naming: L200, Triton and Strada refer to the same vehicle in different markets, and older generations carried other names again. Import paperwork may use any of them, so quote the VIN alongside whichever name your documents use.

Mitsubishi L200 Export Dubai: logistics and buying process

On OneClickDrive you deal directly with the seller. To buy a Mitsubishi L200 for export from Dubai, browse the live listings, filter by model year, cab style, engine, drivetrain, mileage and budget, then contact Dubai's Mitsubishi L200 export dealers by phone, WhatsApp or callback. There is no agent in between and no commission added, which matters when you are buying trucks in quantity for a fleet. Before you commit, ask for current photographs rather than stock images, and confirm the cab style, petrol or diesel, Easy Select or Super Select, mileage, service history, VIN and that the truck is clear for export. On a used pickup, ask what it carried and whether it was worked hard, check the load bed and chassis for damage or heavy repair, and ask about fitted accessories such as a canopy, tow bar, bed liner or roll bar, which usually travel with the truck. Once you agree a price, shipping depends on the destination. For overseas markets the truck usually leaves through Jebel Ali Port, either by RoRo, which suits a pickup and is the cheapest route for a single vehicle, or in a container. For nearby GCC markets many trucks are driven out on temporary export plates. The seller, or a freight forwarder they work with, arranges the booking, the customs filing and the bill of lading, and can handle multi-truck lots.

Step by step:

The dealer handles everything from inspection to export documentation and customs clearance.

Export process and requirements

The export process follows a set order, and it differs for used and brand-new trucks.

For a used truck registered in the UAE, first clear any fines or finance, since a vehicle with unpaid Salik, traffic fines or an active loan cannot be exported until these are settled, with a bank No-Objection Certificate (NOC) where it was financed. Pickups are often registered to companies rather than individuals, so ask early whether a corporate clearance or authorisation letter is also needed. The truck is then de-registered for export and the RTA issues temporary export plates. The RTA also issues the Export Certificate, which cancels the local registration and replaces the used-vehicle registration card (Mulkiya). The export is declared to Dubai Customs, and GCC destinations need a Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) to register the truck on arrival.

For a new 0 km truck that has never been registered in the UAE, there is no Mulkiya and no RTA de-registration, since there is nothing on the local register to cancel. It moves on the dealer's purchase invoice as proof of ownership, a Certificate of Origin, the Dubai Customs export declaration, a VCC, and the Bill of Lading. Exports out of the UAE are usually zero-rated for VAT when the export is completed and documented in time, and the dealer can confirm how this applies to your purchase.

Two points specific to this truck. Make sure the fuel type is stated correctly on the sale invoice and the customs declaration, since several countries apply different duty rates to petrol and diesel commercial vehicles and a few restrict one on emissions grounds. And if your destination's paperwork uses the name Triton or Strada rather than L200, quote the VIN prominently and, where the form allows, both names, so a customs officer working from a name alone does not reference a different vehicle.

Available export models and pricing

The Mitsubishi L200 export price in Dubai depends on the model year, mileage, engine, cab style, drivetrain and condition, so the live listings always show current prices as stock turns over. The range runs from older, higher-mileage single cabs, which are the cheapest Mitsubishi L200 to export from Dubai and the ones traders buy in batches, through recent mid-mileage double cabs, up to near-new and new 0 km units. The diesel commands more than the petrol precisely because export demand favours it, four-wheel drive sits above two-wheel drive, Super Select above Easy Select, and a double cab above a single cab of the same year. If you want to export Mitsubishi L200 Dubai stock as a matched fleet, tell the seller the engine, cab style and quantity up front, since assembling a batch of one specific configuration takes longer than a mixed lot. Check the model year against your destination's import age limit before you commit, and check whether commercial vehicles face a different limit from passenger cars, as they often do.

Tier Profile Price Position Best For
Value (older model years) Higher mileage, single cab, two-wheel drive, often petrol Most affordable Local goods work and price-led fleets
Balanced (recent model years) Moderate mileage, double cab diesel, four-wheel drive Mid-tier Crew transport and dual-purpose work
Near-new (latest model years) Low mileage diesel with Super Select, top trim, or new 0 km Premium Age-limit markets and corporate fleets

Required export documentation

Have the right package ready, since a missing item is the most common cause of delays at the port. The list depends on whether the truck is used or new.

For a used truck (registered in the UAE):

For a new 0 km truck (never registered):

For both: the buyer's passport or Emirates ID (and the seller's ID for a used-vehicle transfer), the sale invoice showing the price, VIN and fuel type, the Dubai Customs export declaration, a VCC for GCC destinations, and a Bill of Lading for sea freight. Keep the originals and copies, and check your destination's own import rules, including the age limit, drive side, homologation, commercial-vehicle classification, any petrol or diesel restriction, and a Certificate of Conformity where it is required.

Key locations and hubs

Popular export destinations for the Mitsubishi L200

Dubai is a major re-export hub, and the L200 is among the most widely distributed pickups anywhere, which means parts and workshop familiarity almost everywhere you might ship it. North Africa is a particularly strong market for this truck, with steady demand in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Sudan. Sub-Saharan Africa takes them for agriculture, contracting, mining and aid work, with demand in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroon, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Angola and Mozambique. The GCC and wider Middle East takes trucks quickly and often overland, with demand in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Iran and Jordan, where GCC-spec vehicles register most easily and a VCC is required. There is steady demand in South and Central Asia, particularly Pakistan and Afghanistan. In several of these markets the truck is known as the Triton or the Strada rather than the L200, so quote both names when you enquire locally. Because pickups are usually classed as commercial vehicles, check both the age limit and the commercial import rules for your destination, and confirm the local preference on petrol against diesel.

Whichever the destination, the dealer can match the truck, the engine and the paperwork to it.

الأسئلة الشائعة

هل يقوم برنامج OneClickDrive بمعالجة عملية التصدير؟

No. OneClickDrive is a marketplace that connects you directly with the seller. The seller, or a freight forwarder they work with, arranges the export, shipping and paperwork, including multi-truck lots. You deal with them directly, with no commission added.

Is the L200 the same as the Mitsubishi Triton?

Yes. It is the same truck under different names in different markets: L200 in Europe, the Middle East and much of Africa, Triton across Asia, Oceania and Latin America, and Strada in some others. Specifications differ a little between markets, so check the VIN and the actual engine rather than relying on the name, and quote both names on import paperwork if your destination uses the other one.

Can I export a Mitsubishi L200 from Dubai to my country?

Yes. You can buy an L200 in Dubai for export to North and Sub-Saharan Africa, the GCC and Middle East, and South and Central Asia. Check your country's age limit, drive side, inspection rules and how it classifies commercial vehicles, and the dealer can source a truck that meets them.

Is a Dubai L200 petrol or diesel?

It can be either, and it is the most important thing to establish. Gulf stock includes both, while most export markets expect the 2.4-litre turbodiesel. The difference affects running costs, pulling power under load, resale value in your market and sometimes import duty. Confirm the engine against the VIN and make sure the fuel type appears on the invoice and the customs declaration.

What is the difference between Easy Select and Super Select four-wheel drive?

Easy Select is a conventional part-time system: two-wheel drive on the road, four-wheel drive for loose surfaces only, and it should not be used in four-wheel drive on dry tarmac. Super Select adds a centre differential so it can run in four-wheel drive on sealed roads too, which is far more useful in mixed or wet conditions. Super Select trucks are worth more, and the two are identical from outside, so ask which one a specific truck has.

ما هي المستندات المطلوبة لتصديرها؟

It depends on whether the truck is used or new. A used truck needs the Mulkiya (registration card), the RTA Export Certificate and export plates, plus company clearance if it is registered to a business. A new 0 km truck uses the dealer's purchase invoice and a Certificate of Origin instead, with no Mulkiya. Both need the buyer's ID, the sale invoice showing the VIN and fuel type, the Dubai Customs declaration, a VCC for the GCC, and a Bill of Lading for sea freight.
